Michael grew up in Roanoke and excelled as an athlete at Roanoke Catholic and Hampden-Sydney College. When Michael is not working, he can be found playing golf or guitar, enjoying music, and spending time with his wife, Sarah, their two daughters, and Golden Retriever, Kemba.
